We just want to have a good time

megs and i had lunch with our friend amanda the other day at jersey grill. it's a new sports bar on jersey ridge off of 53rd in davenport-- pretty tasty stuff, amanda and i had the fish and chips while megan went with pasta primavera. btw, if you go into circa 21 you should request amanda as your bootlegger. she is one of the most hilarious and fabulous people i know and you'd all be better for knowing her! granted, if you go in during the month of december or january you may miss her - she's having a baby very soon!
hmm, what else...oh yeah megan and i ate lunch at the boathouse in davenport today...i do not recommend it. mahi mahi was dry and the halibut was weighed down by its heavy cream sauce... oo and if you want tasty lobster, skip their breaded appetizer and head over to graze for the flash fried variety. much better. oh, the view was nice.

i should probably be sleeping

oo what fun - nicole was in town from seattle this week! she came over from dewitt on thursday night, we started playing after megan and i got off work from graze then headed to the east village for a bit of craziness. some oldies but goodies came out that night: emily and eddie - former graze co-workers and also current staffers jackie and trey! unfortunately i dropped my camera for the 55-61st times and it will not focus now...oopsidaisies...
we had a fantastic time! but i do think i'm going to need to invest in a new camera soon - especially with the move so soon, i'll need to take a photographic journal of my 3rd cross-country relocation.
SPEAKING of the move - megan, joy and i have signed a lease on a GORGEOUS looking house 2 or 3 blocks from wilmington, nc's historic downtown district! very exciting indeed - i'll post some interior photos sometime before we head out on the 5th! NC HERE WE COME!

i've made a huge mistake.

ooowee i am TIRED. it was, once again, a goodbye party for a beloved member of Graze - davenport. Matt, our dishwasher, prep dude, etc, heads out west to washington today so several of us went out to harringtons for a few drinks. afterward i gave shawn, my co-server, a ride home and ended up having a couple of drinks with him and the cutest freaking chihuahua at phil 'n larry's. this dog's name is, i kid you not: Captain Awesome. uh huh. and i'm not a big fan of chihuahuas but i've been plotting to steal this dog since i saw it a couple months ago at said bar. it's owner's name is matt (so informed by the tattoo on his arm...which i think is weird....?) and he let me hang out with Capt for a bit but i tell you that dog does not like it when you attempt to steal him. it's the strangest thing. anyway, after planning to make it an early evening, i rolled in around 4:30am...i work a double today and start dog-sitting the neighbor's black lab, Raven, so it's going to be a lonnnnnnnnng day. oh yeah.
anyway, i'll try to add a photo of Captain Awesome from my phone later, i took about 17.......
on a 'wahoo' side note: i may have converted a couple of people to the righteous path of Obama/Biden ;)
