Shine your shoes with your microphone blues

The MM&J show hit up Tavern on 2nd last weekend and as we listened to some sweet 90's hits (courtesy of a nameless two-man band) we met up with some new friends:

1st up- Jonathan (Courtney's brother) and Nick.

Next we have Jonathan and Rick pretending to not have a good time with Joy...WHO doesn't have a good time with Joy!?

And lastly - Joy and me acting all cool with Jon

From Tavern we headed to Pravda - - where we scored that sweet headgear! It generally stays on a motorcycle riding skeleton...And of course we brought our handy dandy 3-D glasses.

And he's watchin' us all in the eye of the tiger

The crew ( MM&J with a side of CK ) went to Tavern on 2nd on Monday night for a little bags/cornhole plus $2 Miller High Life and PBRs. That place is a great time, I love little pubs where we can just hang out and goof around. They also have bands on Friday and Saturday nights -- the band we saw last weekend was a nameless two man band that played stuff from the 90's. We all had a rocking, nostalgic time shouting along with Goo Goo Dolls, Matchbox 20, The Wallflowers, Oasis, etc!

And yesterday we moved in our fourth roommate, Rocky! He's an adorable 70 lb mutt- he looks like a gigantic Jack Russell Terrier. Ha, Joy and I took Rocky to Hugh McRae Park and poor thing got bit by a goose!! We were walking by a little pond and this goose waddles up to us, Joy and I were thinking 'Oh, how cute!' and then the crazy thing bit Rocky on the nose - - haha! He just backed away, the bird was crazy, attacking a 70 lb dog! But he didn't bark or anything, actually we have yet to hear him speak! Well, other than whine for a minute when I put him to bed last night. Good dog!

And on a random side note - here's a hilarious article about President Obama:

And a great one about some people tampering with road signs in Austin, TX:

I saw a werewolf drinking a pina colada at Trader Vic's

The roommies and I went and saw My Bloody Valentine in 3-D a couple of nights ago, let me tell you it was an amazing cinematic experience! It had horrible acting, ridiculous lines and a twist at the end that was just LAUGHABLE but I have honestly not had that much fun at a movie in a long time. The 3-D elements and 80's-horror-movie cheesiness was a terrific combination. If I had to pick one word to describe the movie I would go with: Craptastic. Too crass? Sorry, but that sums it up better than anything else I can think of!
The above photos are from yesterday at Fox and Hound, one of our favorite places - we're sporting our lovely 3-D glasses. Weezer's Undone came on the jukebox and we decided it would be fitting to pull out the specs. Oh and on a side note, The Dan Scott (character from One Tree Hill) likes to play solo video bowling on Tuesday nights at Fox and Hound. Don't worry, no one was murdered while he was there....well, that we know of anyway!!

we run a tight ship, it's a gaming ship.

Well it's been a LONG time since I've last posted so there may be a couple today! Traveling back to the week of Thanksgiving, my parents came in town to bring us a little bit more of our belongings. They stayed a few days and we got do do some fun touristy things with them including visiting the USS North Carolina! That was a great time, you watch a 15 minute film telling the ships history and then go on a self guided tour that takes about 2-3 hours. Its a massive battleship, a really impressive thing to see, and very entertaining if you have a family that's willing to do goofy things for my amusement!
Mom, Dad and I also visited the Cape Fear Museum of History and Science (Megan was earning the bacon) which was also interesting, they have many artifacts and relics from the Civil War as well as a Michael Jordan exhibit, ha!

Most people will choose unhappiness over uncertainty. I'm definitely not one of those people. --- this blog is simply to keep my friends and family somewhat updated on my little adventures whether I'm going to a new restaurant/bar or moving cross country, then back, then to the opposite coast...
